Stephen B. Lavallah is the Board Chairman of Save Life Liberia. A practicing lawyer and accomplished social entrepreneur, he is also the Founder and Executive Director of Youth Exploring Solutions, a nonprofit dedicated to youth empowerment and community development. Additionally, he is an alumnus of several prestigious global fellowships including the United States Department of state Community Solution Program (CSP), and the Community Engagement Exchange Program, (CEEP); Atty. Lavallah brings a wealth of experience in law, nonprofit leadership, and public advocacy. His legal expertise and passion for grassroots engagement make him a strong voice for accountability, governance, and strategic growth within the organization.
Courage Sundberg

Courage Sundberg serves as Co-Chair of the Board of Directors at Save Life Liberia. With a professional background in nursing and a Master’s degree in Global Health from the Uppsala University, she brings a unique blend of clinical knowledge and public health expertise. Mrs. Sundberg is a committed advocate for health equity, trauma care, and road safety as a public health issue. Her leadership supports evidence-based strategies that focus on reducing injuries, improving emergency response systems, and fostering healthier communities.
Vasco Tuwon Masseh
Board Secretary| Activist| Founder & Executive Director, Save Life Liberia:
Vasco Tuwon Masseh is the Secretary of the Board and the visionary Founder and Executive Director of Save Life Liberia. A passionate road safety advocate, he oversees the organization’s daily operations while supporting board governance and strategic coordination. His grassroots-driven leadership has helped build national awareness around traffic safety and strengthened partnerships with stakeholders across government, civil society, and international networks.
Antoinette Fahnbulleh
Board Member | Medical Doctor | Medical Director:
Dr. Antoinette Fahnbulleh serves as a Board Member of Save Life Liberia. She is a graduate of the Hassan II, University from the Faculty of General Medicine.
As a practicing medical doctor and medical director, she brings firsthand experience in dealing with the human impact of road crashes. Her clinical background and leadership in healthcare guide the organization’s approach to post-crash care, trauma response training, and health system collaboration. Dr. Fahnbulleh is committed to integrating health sector perspectives into road safety planning and policy.
Tenneh Johnson Nelson
Board Member| Master’s Degree in Regional Planning:
Tenneh Johnson Nelson is a Board Member at Save Life Liberia, with a Master’s degree in Regional Planning from the University of Liberia. Her expertise in sustainable development, urban planning, and community resilience supports the organization’s advocacy for safer road infrastructure and inclusive transportation design. Ms. Nelson brings a planning lens to road safety challenges, ensuring that vulnerable populations and underserved areas are prioritized in national mobility strategies.
